Meet the Director

Dave Phaure

Sonnets Theatre Arts School is led by David Phaure, Dave understands how the arts can make a difference to young peoples lives and be used in a positive way.  He has over 20 years experience in teaching and running performing arts workshops for young people.   He established Sonnets Theatre School to make high quality performing arts training more affordable and to help children either to become a professional artist or gain confidence and invaluable life skills. Dave brings both professional insight and genuine care to every class he teaches.

Children at Sonnets Theatre School are given equal opportunity to perform in the annual showcases from the beginners to the experienced. Sonnets Coaches offer a wide syllabus of acting skills for stage, TV and Radio.

He also offers LAMDA tuition (Grades 1–8) — one of the UK’s most highly regarded drama qualifications. Through one-to-one or small group coaching, students work towards performance-based exams that enhance their communication, acting, and public speaking skills. LAMDA qualifications also carry UCAS points for older students working towards higher education.

David holds a professional performing arts qualification from ALRA an accredited Drama School. He also teaches LAMDA full-time at Farleigh Preparatory School and has also published three books to date: A collection of monologues for children, A collection of duologues for children and a one act play called Bully or Victim.
